Business Torts

A business relationship can fail for reasons that no contract fully addresses. A customer may be pulled away through a false statement. A transaction may have been induced by a material misrepresentation. A partner or manager may have used an entrusted position for a different purpose. Jayakumar Law handles these disputes for claimants and defendants, with close attention to what can be proved.

Conduct, Causation, and Loss

Labels such as fraud, interference, or breach of fiduciary duty do not substitute for evidence. We work backward from the decision or transaction at issue: who said or did what, when it happened, what the other party knew, and how the alleged conduct caused a measurable loss. Contracts and contemporaneous communications often tell a more useful story than later characterizations of the dispute.

When Claims Overlap

Business tort allegations often travel with contract claims, ownership disputes, or unfair-competition claims. The same facts may support different theories, but each claim has its own requirements and defenses. We assess that overlap early so a case stays focused and avoidable claims do not distract from the strongest position.

Resolution and Litigation

Some matters call for a fast response to protect a customer relationship or prevent further harm. Others turn on a careful accounting of past transactions. We advise on pre-suit demands, negotiation, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation according to the record and the business stakes—not a one-size-fits-all litigation script.

Delivering strong, dependable legal solutions for every client.
